Jewelry retains its value since it can be reused in a myriad of ways. Buyers melt gold down and resell it; they also refurbish pre-owned gemstones and set them in new jewelry.  With growing demand for gold, diamonds and other precious gemstones, the value of jewelry is through the roof. The increased demand is a cash cow for millions of Americans that have old, unwanted and broken jewelry.  Getting rid of your unwanted watches, bracelets, rings, necklaces and earrings is easier than ever since there are several ways to sell your items.

Mail away operations are one of the easiest ways to sell your jewelry. Legitimate online companies such as GemsTrust.com pay top dollar for gold and diamond jewelry. They also buy jewelry studded with precious gemstones such as tanzanite, rubies, tourmaline, sapphires, emeralds and alexandrite.  The service is simple: they send you a prepaid envelope, you mail them your jewelry, they make an offer and, if you accept, they send a check. If you are not satisfied with their offer, they will return the jewelry at no expense to you.

Mail-in operations are lauded for the ease of their transactions, paying top dollar and the safeguards they use to protect your jewelry. For example, they provide complimentary mailing insurance that will cover your item(s) if it is lost during transit. Mail-in companies also have a team of experts that work hard to establish the fair market value of your items. Their jewelry buyers and GIA-certified gemologists inspect and appraise each piece of jewelry and offer its fair market value.

If you don’t feel comfortable using a mail-in service, there many jewelry stores in your area that will buy your item(s). The jeweler will inspect your item(s), assess its value and make an offer. The services are free of charge; so, if you are not satisfied with their offer, you can take the jewelry into another store. The added benefit of this method is that the payments are immediate. Jewelry stores also give you the opportunity to compare offers and to ensure that you get the best price for your item.

Hotel gold buys are limited-time engagements that take place in every city. These traveling events feature a host of jewelry buyers and liquidators that are looking to pay big money for your jewelry. They advertise heavily on television and draw a large number of jewelry sellers. The events take place in hotel ballrooms and convention spaces and the transactions are quick. You take in your old jewelry and the buyers inspect it. They make an offer and pay you on the spot. Hotel gold buys are limited-time engagements, so keep an eye out for advertisements announcing events in your area.

Gemstones are composed of various rocks and elements. Unprocessed stones are polished, cut, and faceted and then they are given the name of gemstones. Gemstones can be classified in various ways as follows-

• On the basis of the constituent element. E.g. rubies are composed of aluminum and diamonds are composed of carbon.

• On the basis of shapes of stones. E.g. cubic, trigonal, monoclinic etc

• On the basis of mineral species. E.g. beryl mineral species includes such gemstones as emerald, aquamarine, bixbite, heliodor, and moeganite.

A variety of gemstones are available in the market. Gemstones are available not only in the three primary colors of green, blue and red but also in various other hues.

Purchasing gemstones can be quite a harrowing task. If you are not mindful and cannot tell the difference from one gemstone to the next then the chances of your being duped is very high. There is no dearth of unscrupulous dealers who can resort to fraudulent practices and give you inferior quality gems at the price of the original one. Thus it is very important that you buy gemstones only from a authorized or certified dealers.

Many companies - including Silver Gemstone Jewelry including Silver Topaz, Amethyst, Turquoise Gemstone Rings, earrings, Pendants and Bracelets website - combat this aspect of online shopping by providing the potential customer with quality photography. Displaying the particular product in various, authentic environmental or room scenes helps to add depth to an otherwise one-dimensional object. Forgoing the luxury of touching, holding or viewing a product, many people worldwide have welcomed the opportunity of shopping online with open arms.

There are a variety of challenges that people face when choosing to shop silver gemstone jewelry including silver topaz, silver amethyst, turquoise gemstone rings, earrings, pendants and bracelets: lack of actual product visibility.

Here are just 5 of many reasons as to why online holiday shopping is a good idea:

1) Avoid lengthy lines & crowds

If you're anything like I am, then you've noticed that personal space has become more of a luxury than a common courtesy these days. The simple notion of being able to shop in my pajamas is enticing enough, but to do so without someone coughing behind me or accidentally rubbing up against me sounds like my idea of ultimate peace.

2) Save time

Family, work, and household chores are only a few of the responsibilities that many people are committed to caring for, performing, and maintaining on a daily basis. Bottom line: time is a precious commodity. Getting to the mall in between work, dinner, or hockey practice can be more difficult than finding a buried treasure for many people. Online holiday shopping provides a convenient outlet for those with a rare spare minute during any given day.

3) Save gas

While gas prices have actually gone down significantly during these trying economic times, trimming expenses wherever possible is still critical for many families. Many e-commerce sites offer free shipping on orders over a specified price, so it's important to remain alert to such deals.

4) Save money

With price comparison shopping engines a mere click away, it is extremely easy to scour the web for the best price on a certain product. Additionally, many companies offer the option of price matching simply to gain a sale over competitors. If you find a product for less and send this information to a competing site with a higher price, then more often than not, the site with the higher price will offer a percentage off of the product to sell it at a lower price point in order to make the sale.

5) Shop anytime, anywhere

The virtual world never closes. With many prominent department stores & boutique shops boasting online storefronts, it is now possible to gain access to essentially any range of product offering. Couldn't get to the mall between 10 a.m. and 9 p.m.? No problem - just open a few browser windows and search for that home decor or clothing that you so desperately needed a couple of hours earlier.

Browse our Silver Gemstone Jewelry including Silver Topaz, Amethyst, Turquoise Gemstone Rings, earrings, Pendants and Bracelets.

Every woman loves the look of the silver jewely with a monogrammed tag or charm. and these jewelry pieces makes a great gift, because you are sure to find a perfect piece to suit the unique style of each of your friends or loved ones. There is something out there for every taste, whether your friends are more classic, preppy, funky, or earthy. Silver jewelry is very reasonably priced, so you can splurge on the whole set of jewelry to really make a splash.

In Indian culture, Gold is given preference over the silver when it comes to Jewelry. Gold being an expensive metal always, its use is limited to upper elite classes and royals only. Silver is relatively cheaper than gold and is available to common people. It has its own charm and beauty.

In earlier times, silver was used in various ornaments like a belt and an armlet worn around arms, bracelets, bangles, anklets and much more. Most of these items are still worn by women as part of customs in rural India. Besides this, there are many items which are made of silver like utensils, decorative and idols of God and Goddesses. Most poplar piece of it is anklet. Anklet is worn by most of the women and girls.

However, in urban India, silver Jewelry is worn to make a fashion statement rather than to follow customs. With prices ever on increase, gold is getting out of reach of even middle class people. At the same time, people are suffering from economic crisis looming world over. However, despite all these conditions, fashion can not be ignored. Instead of gold, women are getting attracted to cheaper Jewelry made of Silver. Jewelry designers are coming with new range of Jewelry every now and then. Add to this, there is craze for white metal like white gold and platinum in West which makes it even more attractive. There are many Jewelry shops which are dedicated to this kind of jewelry.

You can find jewelry pieces, both for men and women, bracelets, earrings, pendants, rings and stone studded ornament. Most of the Jewelry shops sell all these items.

Diamond is a most precious stones so you should have keep some ideas before purchasing this precious  stone jewelry. We are specifying some diamond jewelry buying tips :

Diamonds are considered as symbols of love; and its called girls stone, thats why they wore diamond jewelry in their engagement and wedding . Color, cut, clarity and carat are the four characteristics which determine the value of diamonds. Among these qualities, cut determines the desirability of the diamond since the other qualities are naturally acquired ones. The jewelry can be made of gold, sterling silver or titanium.

Tip 1: Ask yourself: "Do I want to wear something that is worth what I paid?" If the answer is no, stop reading now. You don't need my advice. If the answer is yes-and it probably is, then we want to avoid all jewelry that is made on an assembly line because it depreciates an average of 80.3% in value when you walk out the jewelry store's door. Simple question, ask the jeweler if the piece is 100% handmade. If not, you are looking at expensive costume jewelry.

Tip 2: If the jeweler passes tip 1, good. Now, ask if the settings are vacuum poured and vacuum pressed to remove any air pockets in the jewelry that can hurt its structural integrity. If he/she answers "Huh?", move on.

Tip 3: Ask if the gemstones are 100% natural and haven't been treated in anyway shape or form including baking to whiten, fracture filing to hide cracks, laser drilling to remove carbon. If they say "Uh, what?" or "Not sure", move on.

Tip 4: Ask if the major diamond (stones 1/4ct or larger) are fully bonded (if the jeweler 100% guarantees that for any reason at any time in the future, you are unhappy, you can get your hard earned money back! If no, see ya!

Are you already on the prowl for Black Friday deals or Cyber Monday sales? We all know that these days hold the reputation of fulfilling every bargain hunter's dream because retailers slash prices on a limited number of items at or below cost. But are these Black Friday deals really a "deal"?

Well, the day after Thanksgiving is called "Black Friday" for a reason. For retailers, it's all about boosting their sales "into the black" - into profitability. Profits are made not by offering goods at a loss, but by selling at super-low prices to lure you into their stores where they can try to use sneaky tricks to get your money.

In order to survive this holiday season with your wallet intact and make "Black Friday" profitable for yourself, and not the stores, review these 5 shopping tips:

1. Beware of Deep-Discount Sales and "Add-Ons." As mentioned earlier, many retailers promote "door-buster" sales on Black Friday and Cyber Monday to lure you into the store or online so that you will spend, spend, spend. Frequently, stores offer a very limited quantity of the "door-buster" deals which may force you to purchase a similar item at the regular price. This is a classic "bait-and-switch" scam. Stores may also attempt to sell you an inexpensive product with a very expensive warranty. Or, a salesperson tells you that you need to purchase additional software, accessories or other over-priced add-ons as a requirement for the product but this information was not advertised or included in the price. Typically, you discover this information at the register. If the price at the register is higher than advertised for any reason, ask to speak to a supervisor and insist on the advertised price.

2. Shop Early for "Hot-Items." Don't procrastinate and wait until the last minute for "hot-items." Plan your shopping strategy days in advance and make sure that you have alternatives. Diligently use shopping comparison sites and sign up for email alerts from your favorite stores.

3. Protect Yourself Online. Phony sales or "bait and switch" tactics happen online too. For example, a Web site might advertise an item at a very cheap price but the product is not in stock so they try to get you to buy something else at a higher cost. Or, if you try to only buy the sale item, the retailer either cancels the order claiming the product has been back-ordered or they send you a lower quality product that you did not order. If one of these practices occur, exercise your consumer rights including, seeking recourse if your order does not arrive on time or disputing questionable charges on your credit card. For more information on avoiding rip-offs and exercising your consumer rights visit http://www.ftc.gov.

4. Don't Buy Unnecessary Warranties. Appliance and electronic retailers always ask you if you want an extended warrant when you buy such items. In most cases, "just say no" Why? These stores keep 50 percent or more of what they charge you for the warranty and studies show that products seldom break within the period the extended warranty covers-which is after the standard warranty expires and within two to three years of purchase. Also, the standard manufacturer's warranty covers many of the repairs included in an extended warranty. But if you are looking for peace of mind or the price to repair the product is extremely high after the standard warranty expires, check to see if your credit card offers similar coverage or try to negotiate a better price.

5. Understand Return and Price Match Policies. You can get the best price without hassles if you know in advance a store's price-match and return policy. Many stores offer price-match guarantees (if a competitor offers a lower price, they'll match it). However, items purchased on Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be exempt from the store's general policy. Some stores have a return policy that, in effect, is a price-match guarantee for the store itself (if they drop the price, the difference is later refunded to you if you ask for it). If you know which product you plan to buy, and find a store with a price-match guarantee that honors Black Friday prices, buy it in advance. When Black Friday rolls around, you can look for the best price, and not have to worry about whether the store is out of stock. If a store is willing to refund the difference between its own normal price and its Black Friday price, buy it early for the same reason.

Remember, to get a jump on great Black Friday deals and Cyber Monday sales, start planning now, research your purchases and above all else spread good cheer.
